ABOUT US
Fostering Hope was established in 2004 by citizens who saw a need to assist some of the most vulnerable children in our community, the children residing in our local foster care system. Over the past years, we have grown and we are continuing to grow. We expanded our services and are pleased to be serving children referred by the American Red Cross who have lost homes to fires or other disasters, children placed by the Department of Social Services with relatives due to abuse and/or neglect, medically fragile children referred by local hospitals, as well as other children referred by local partner agencies.
All of the children we serve have endured some form of physical, mental, or emotional abuse and/or neglect, or experienced a loss. These traumatizing events have left many of the children feeling angry, confused, and abandoned. Their young lives have been completely turned upside down due to circumstances beyond their control or understanding.
Our purpose at Fostering Hope is to help make these children's lives a little bit easier by making sure they have basic necessities such as clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and school supplies. We also try to lift their spirits and let them know the community cares by providing toys, books, homemade quilts, and more.
Throughout the year we hold events for the children to attend including an Easter Party and our Annual Christmas Snowflake Carnival. With the help of our sponsors we also provide Christmas morning gifts through our Angel of Hope Christmas Gift Drive for over 900 children.

Phil (left) and Tony (right) working in the back storage area. There are always a variety of projects to do at Fostering Hope. You never know what tasks you may find yourself doing when you walk in! Today a shelf is being added to help this storage needs.
Al keeps all of the donations and back storage room organized. He is the go to man for most everything coming into Fostering Hope and all of our maintenance! Al also helps with donation pick ups and has even been know to help with crying babies.
Etta maintains the infant to size 6 area. Etta and her husband Al were the first two volunteers at Fostering Hope and have been with us since 2004. Fostering Hope would be lost without their dedication.

Virginia makes sure all the teen girls items are in style and in their proper places. She loves to decorate and makes sure there is lots of bling for the girls. Virginia has endless energy so she also maintains our shoe area!

Mary Beth keeps our teen boys room organized and decorated in a sports theme. She is one of our board members and has been volunteering for eight years.
Nancy has taken the responsibility to ensure each child receives a winter coat. She checks, sizes, and if needed washes every coat that comes into Fostering Hope.
Tabby, the founder of Fostering Hope, is originally from Palm Beach County Florida. She and her husband Rob moved to the area to attend Coastal Carolina University in 1997. After the adoption of twin boys in 2002 they realized there was a need to support foster parents and children residing in the Horry County Area. After a sermon Tabby heard in 2004 she felt she was being called to open a place for the children where they could get needed items for every day living at no cost. Tabby and Rob live in Conway and have four adopted children and over the years have fostered over sixty.
